Job Summary

This role is based at Regent Court within the Finance Department near Five Ways, Birmingham, B15 1NU
. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join the Trust's Purchase Ledger Department. The successful candidate will join a busy team responsible for processing supplier payments within agreed time frames, reconciling statements and dealing with telephone and e‑mail enquiries. The post holder will communicate directly with suppliers and Trust staff on a regular basis to investigate and resolve invoice and payment queries.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience working within a busy accounts‑payable environment requiring speed, accuracy, and a strong customer focus. Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, a high level of numeracy, good IT literacy and a professional, proactive, flexible approach to work. Experience planning and achieving tasks to tight deadlines will also be required.

Responsibilities
  • Process supplier payments within agreed time frames.
  • Reconcile supplier statements.
  • Handle telephone and e‑mail enquiries.
  • Communicate with suppliers and Trust staff to investigate and resolve invoice and payment queries.
  • Plan and prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines.
Person Specification Essential qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, including numeracy and literacy.
Essential experience
  • Computerised Accounts Payable experience, reconciliation skills, PC skills, prioritising tasks and excellent time management.
  • Knowledge of accounts‑payable processes and procedures and the NHS.
Desirable
  • ECDL certification.
  • Knowledge of Sage 1000.
  • Experience with Windows XP, Excel, Word and Access – Softology.
