Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting a well-established medium-sized accountancy firm in Birmingham who are looking for an experienced and motivated Mixed Tax Senior to join their team.

This role offers the opportunity to manage a varied portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients, delivering high-quality compliance services while supporting advisory work across a broad range of tax matters.

The successful candidate will provide expert guidance to clients, handle complex tax issues, and deliver exceptional service while continuing to develop their technical knowledge within a supportive team environment.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Managing a varied portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients.
  • Preparing and reviewing corporation tax and self-assessment tax returns, including group structures.
  • Providing advice across a range of corporate and personal tax matters.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships and providing ongoing tax support.
  • Liaising with HMRC to resolve client queries and handle communications.
  • Reviewing the work of junior team members and supporting their training and development.
  • Assisting with planning workloads and ensuring deadlines and standards are met.

    Keeping up to date with legislation and sharing knowledge within the team.
Personal Requirements –
  • Solid knowledge of UK personal and corporate tax.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing personal and corporate tax returns within an accountancy practice.
  • A proactive and professional approach, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, prioritise tasks, and maintain a high standard of client service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in various accounting software’s and MS Office.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
