Our client a leader in logistics and transportation is seeking a Accounts Receivable Clerk based in Birmingham City Centre.
Our client is a leading UK logistics and transportation provider based in Birmingham City Centre. They operate with decades of industry expertise and a strong reputation for delivering time-critical freight and specialist transport.
As Accounts Receivable Clerk reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the sales ledger function, ensuring customer payments and income are recorded accurately and reconciliations are completed in a timely manner.
Key responsibilities include:
- Posting and allocating customer receipts and remittances to customer accounts.
- Processing ledger adjustments, including exchange rate variances, bank charges and approved write-offs.
- Reconciling customer statements and resolving account discrepancies.
- Supporting daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Maintaining and reconciling sales ledger control accounts.
- Working closely with Credit Control to investigate and resolve customer invoice queries.
- Assisting with the processing of credit notes and account adjustments.
- Supporting the creation and maintenance of customer accounts.
- Contributing to month-end reconciliation and reporting activities.
- Providing general finance administration and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure customer accounts remain current and accurate.
The most desirable Accounts Receivable Clerk applicant will have:
- Previous experience within a Sales Ledger, Accounts Receivable or Finance Assistant position.
- Strong understanding of customer payment allocations and ledger reconciliations.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- A recognised finance qualification (AAT or equivalent) would be advantageous.
