Assistant Accountant

This role is based within an organisation in Birmingham.

Job Description

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely updates to the accounting system.
• Assist with preparing financial reports and statements.
• Support month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations.
• Process invoices, payments and expense claims efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial information when needed.
• Help identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data.
• Contribute to the improvement of financial processes and systems.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Assistant Accountant should have:

• A background in accounting or finance, with knowledge of accounting principles.
  
  - Qualified/Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA/AAT/QBE
• Experience using accounting software and tools.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
• Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Clear communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
