Financial Accountant Sector:
Public Sector Duration: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Location:
Birmingham
- Hybrid Salary: £50k
Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a Financial Accountant for our Public Sector client based in Birmingham.
Job Purpose:Financial Accountant
- Responsible for preparing the financial statements and act as a key liaison with external auditors
- Provide technical accounting advice
- Manage the day-today operations of the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Analyse current financial processes to identify opportunities for improvement
Financial Accountant
- Lead the preparation of monthly and annual financial reporting
- Review key accounting entries, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
- Support the year-end audit process and coordinate responses to audit recommendations
- Act as the Finance Subject Matter Expert for Oracle Fusion ERP
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve reporting, controls, workflows and automation through better utilisation of Oracle functionality
- Support system enhancements, testing and transformation activities
- Own and continually improve end-to-end financial accounting processes
- Lead the identification and resolution of process inefficiencies, control weaknesses and recurring issues
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery, reduce risk and improve operational efficiency.
- Financial Accountant:
- Strong technical Accounting Knowledge, including IFRS
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Fully Qualified
