Your new company
Are you an experienced administrator with leadership skills and a passion for data accuracy and operational excellence? Birmingham City Council is seeking a proactive and organised Team Leader to oversee our Asset Management Admin Team on a full-time, temporary basis.
Your new role
This is a pivotal role responsible for managing a small team of asset administrators, ensuring accurate data and record keeping across the directorate. You will provide high-quality support services to internal and external stakeholders, while driving improvements in compliance, performance, and service delivery.
You'll play a key role in ensuring that council assets are properly documented, maintained, and managed in line with relevant policies and legal regulations. Your leadership will help ensure consistent, efficient, and effective administrative support that meets the evolving needs of the business. Key Responsibilities
Lead, train, and support asset administrators, conduct performance reviews, and allocate tasks and projectsDeliver high-quality administrative services to internal and external customersEnsure assets are correctly identified, tracked, and monitored according to established proceduresOperate and maintain administrative systems to support consistent service delivery, including preparing reports and correspondenceMaintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation for all council assetsIdentify and implement workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectivenessEnsure timely handling of emails, phone calls, and complaints, logging all customer contacts in the Housing Management systemManage contractor queries and resolve issues with a problem-solving approachAnalyse HHSRS actions from contractors and raise appropriate follow-up tasks or referralsInterrogate the Land Registry to update asset records following property ownership changesUphold confidentiality and ensure compliance with Data Protection Act principlesPromote staff safety and security by adhering to relevant policies and reporting concerns appropriatelyWhat you'll need to succeedWe're seeking a confident and capable leader with:
Strong administrative and organisational skillsExperience managing teams and improving operational processesExcellent communication and problem-solving abilitiesA commitment to data accuracy, compliance, and customer serviceFamiliarity with housing systems and asset management practices (preferred)What you'll get in returnThis is a full-time temporary position and offers a hybrid working arrangement. You will receive payment on a weekly basis and receive an hourly rate of £20.27 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
