At citizen we manage over 30000 homes, of all different tenures and tenancy types, our team are responsible for setting the charges for these homes. This includes setting charges accurately in line with agreement types as well as ensuring maximum cost recovery.

Role:
Rent & Service Charge Officer

Salary £ 36,149 + 4% pay award from the 1st April 2026

Position: Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Location: B37 7YN
, 4040 Lakeside, Hybrid working (At least 2 days per week in the office)

Responsibilities
  • To produce accurate rent and service charge statements in line with the business' rent setting procedures
  • Be alert to opportunities to improve procedures and paperwork in order to simplify/streamline existing procedures
  • Maintain the service charge module
  • Investigate and resolve customer enquiries relating to rent and service charge statements
Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate with both internal and external customers and resolve their problems.
  • Intermediate level working of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to communicate financial information to non-finance staff in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines and prioritise tasks.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
Desired Skills
  • Knowledge of Housing Associations
  • Knowledge of the relevant legislation governing rents & service charges
  • Ability to use advanced Excel functions and develop Excel solutions to achieve objectives
