Band 2 Administrator The closing date is 08 June 2026

We are seeking an organised, friendly, and reliable Administrator / Receptionist to join our team in the Diabetes & Endocrine Centre. This is a varied role combining 2 days reception cover with general administrative duties for the Diabetes nursing team and the Endocrine nursing team, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy, people-focused environment.

Main duties of the job Reception Duties
  • Provide professional and welcoming reception cover for visitors, patients, and staff
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, redirecting queries appropriately
  • Manage appointment bookings, messages, patient packs and general enquiries
  • Maintain reception area standards and ensure a positive first impression
Administrative Duties
  • Carry out a range of administrative tasks including data entry, filing, appointments, cashing up clinics and record management for the Diabetes and Endocrine teams
  • Support the wider team with day-to-day office administration
  • Process correspondence, emails, and documents in a timely manner

    Maintain accurate electronic and paper records
  • Assist with meeting arrangements and diary management as required

Specification Qualifications
  • Good General Education (e.g. GCSE English and Maths A-C) or GCSE Level 9-4
Experience
  • Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Experience of using IT systems
  • Experience of working in a busy office / customer care environment
  • Experience of working in healthcare
  • Previous experience of reception work
Additional Criteria
  • Good communication / customer care skills both written and verbal demonstrating sympathy and compassion
  • Good organisation skills and ability to multitask
  • Ability to deal professionally with enquiries from staff, service users and stakeholders
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Understand confidentiality and apply the principles in every day working practice
  • Ability to pay attention to detail where there are predictable interruptions to the work pattern
  • Ability to deal with stressful situations and sensitive issues
  • Work effectively and flexibly as part of a team to meet the needs of the services
  • Confident in dealing with people at all levels
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of equality and diversity
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites
