Main duties of the job
- Book Nuclear Medicine scans cross-site, liaising with patients, relatives and referrers.
- Exercise initiative and judgement based on acquired knowledge and experience when dealing with enquiries.
- Receive and deal with telephone enquiries as appropriate.
- Input and look up data on Trust IT systems in accordance with Trust policy.
- Type from audio and/or copy type from written documentation, which may include letters, emails, reports and any other correspondence as required.
- Photocopy, scan and file letters and documents as required.
- Assist colleagues as directed by the Supervisor/Line Manager during times of pressure or high workload.
- Co‑operate in the introduction of new technology and new working practices to ensure the smooth running of the department.
- Accurately record telephone messages and other enquiries and refer as appropriate.
- Provide effective communication and problem‑solving face‑to‑face, via email and telephone.
- Attend administrative team / departmental meetings on a regular basis.
- Make decisions and take actions within the team relating to routine enquiries, while receiving support and supervision.
- Organise own day‑to‑day work tasks showing an ability to prioritise in order to achieve set timescales.
- Follow up any DNAs.
- Manage short‑notice cancellations and re‑bookings of patients onto appropriate lists.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Nuclear Medicine department booking team as we move towards cross‑site bookings. To provide a full administration/coordination and cross‑site Nuclear Medicine booking service, working in conjunction with colleagues, service users and stakeholders to provide an efficient service.
