Overview
Our Matchday Operations Department plays a pivotal role in planning, coordinating and delivering all aspects of matchday activity, ensuring each fixture is executed safely, efficiently and to the highest professional standards. The team is central to creating a seamless experience for players, officials, supporters, staff and wider stakeholders, working collaboratively across the Club and with external partners to drive operational excellence while ensuring full compliance with Premier League, UEFA and FA regulatory requirements.
MatchdayBall Assistant Chaperone
The Matchday Ball Assistant Chaperone will lead and manage our ball‑assistant function for Men’s First Team home matches, as well as U21 and U18 fixtures as required. This is a predominantly match‑day role with administrative duties and meetings outside of matchdays.
Responsibilities- Act as the first point of contact for matchday ball assistants, focusing on communication with parents/guardians about inductions, training, rotas and sign‑in/sign‑out processes.
- Liaise with Men’s Coaching Teams to ensure the highest operational effectiveness during matches.
- Ensure all Health and Safety and Safeguarding requirements are met, providing a safe and inclusive environment for ball assistants.
- Manage administrative tasks related to ball‑assistant duties and attend meetings outside of matchdays.
- Confident, organised and personable with experience supervising young people.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and a current safeguarding qualification.
- Chaperone licence (the Club will support obtaining the licence).
- Professional football environment experience and FA Coaching qualifications are desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with a wide range of people.
- Detail‑focused, calm under pressure and able to manage tasks efficiently in a fast‑paced setting.
Available to work all Men’s First Team home matches, and U21 and U18 fixtures as required, including evenings and weekends.
