Our Operational Support Officers provide exceptional customer service and key administrative support to court and tribunal users, judiciary and management. Working within a team, you will progress cases through the court/tribunal system and ensure smooth court proceedings.
Key responsibilities include preparing papers and files, creating and updating digital records, communicating with the public and court users, supporting the running of court hearings, and serving as the first point of contact for vulnerable witnesses and the public.
Full‑time positions are 37 hours per week, with part‑time work (minimum 30 hours) considered where the role demands.
Responsibilities- Prepare court and tribunal papers and files, handling sensitive information with accuracy.
- Create and update electronic case records accurately.
- Communicate with the public, the judiciary and other court users.
- Support court proceedings and prepare hearing rooms to ensure efficient operations.
- Act as the first point of contact for court users, including vulnerable witnesses.
- Strong customer service skills and experience in a customer‑facing environment.
- Good digital and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and organisational skills, comfortable in person, telephone and written communication.
- Resilience and empathy to handle sensitive information and situations.
- Team player capable of working collaboratively and flexibly to deliver objectives.
- Annual leave: 25 days at appointment, increasing to 30 after five years; possibility to buy or sell up to three days per year.
