Due to continued growth, we are currently recruiting for an experienced and highly motivated HGV Workshop Technician / Mechanic to join our busy and professional workshop team based in Weeford.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a thriving business operating within a fast-paced, time-critical distribution environment, where you will play a key role in maintaining a large modern fleet to the highest standards.
Shift Pattern
* Night shifts:
Monday to Thursday
* Alternative Saturdays required
The Role
Reporting directly to the Workshop Manager, your responsibilities will include:
* Servicing and maintaining a fleet of approximately 90 vehicles and 30 trailers
* Carrying out fault diagnostics and identifying mechanical and electrical issues
* Preparing vehicles for MOT inspections
* Completing weekly and monthly vehicle safety checks
* Performing mechanical and electrical repairs efficiently and safely
* Ensuring all work is completed to high maintenance and compliance standards
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
* Previous experience in a similar HGV, commercial vehicle, or heavy plant environment
* NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent qualification preferred
* Time-served technician experience considered
* Strong diagnostic and repair skills
* Experience working on DAF, Volvo, MAN and Renault vehicles
* A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently as part of a night shift team
