Overview
Capsticks has an established defendant clinical negligence team that operates nationally for NHS Trusts and GPs. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team delivering this work in London or Leeds and developing relationships with healthcare organisations. We are looking for applicants who have a genuine interest in healthcare, want to develop their career in this area of law, and seek a supportive and forward-thinking team.

Team and scopeThe Claims Division comprises around 100 fee earners across Wimbledon, Leeds and Birmingham. The firm has been a member of NHS Resolution’s panel of lawyers since its inception and is ranked highly for defendant clinical negligence work. Capsticks handles a broad range of health care work, including inquests, regulatory matters, public law issues, judicial reviews, mental health issues and clinical risk management.
Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of claims on instructions from NHS Resolution and, where appropriate, assist other team members on higher value or complex claims involving maximum severity injuries.
- Work closely with a partner who will supervise your work and provide opportunities for client contact and business development.
- Contribute to a high-quality defendant clinical negligence service for health care organisations.
- Experience in litigation with an interest in defendant clinical negligence work.
- Ability to understand and respond to the needs of the client base and to work effectively within a team.
- Self-motivated and ambitious, with the potential for career progression within the team.
