An Asian Cash and Carry is currently recruiting a Chinese speaking Buyer.

You will be working proactively both independently and with other teams to ensure that products are ordered and received on time, that appropriate stock levels are maintained, and to develop new product ranges and improve existing product ranges.

Fluent English and Mandarin or Cantonese is necessary for this role. Having the motivation and strong work ethic are also key!

Salary: £26-32K depending on experience

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00-17:30 (one hour break), five days a week, may occasionally work on Saturdays

Location: London (on-site)

Start: ASAP

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to obtain sales forecasts and customer feedback, effectively managing demand, planning orders to prevent shortage and overstock.
  • Monitor stock levels and sales trends to ensure timely and accurate product ordering, especially in the chilled sections.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to verify shipping and delivery schedules, ensuring timely receipt of goods.
  • Manage and develop supplier relationships, ensuring suppliers meet performance targets and contribute to business growth.
  • Collect and maintain accurate item data from suppliers for integration into SAP.
  • Resolve supplier‑related issues, including quality concerns with the technical team and delivery problems with the warehouse.
  • Review invoices and draft invoices for the accounting team to process payment.
  • Complete tasks and special projects as assigned by the line manager.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of working experience in procurement and the food industry is desirable.
  • Fluent in English is must, Cantonese or Mandarin is beneficial.
  • Proficient in Excell and SAP systems.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong data accuracy.
  • Problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multitask and take initiative.
  • Ability to complete tasks assigned by managers efficiently.
