Birmingham (Hybrid Working Available)

£40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits

A specialist manufacturing business based in Birmingham is seeking an ambitious and analytical Demand Planner to join its growing supply chain function.

This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and wants to play a key role in shaping forecasting, inventory, and planning processes within an expanding organisation.

Reporting into senior leadership, you'll take ownership of demand planning activities, supporting the alignment of customer demand, inventory availability, procurement activity, and production capacity. The role offers significant exposure across the wider business and the opportunity to influence operational performance through data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical sales data, market trends, and business intelligence.
  • Support the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring demand plans align with operational capabilities.
  • Analyse forecast accuracy and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with procurement, operations, sales, and finance teams to deliver accurate planning information.
  • Monitor inventory levels and support stock optimisation initiatives.
  • Produce planning reports, KPIs, and performance analysis to support business decisions.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of planning tools, systems, and processes.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience within Demand Planning, Supply Chain Planning, Forecasting, or a similar analytical planning role.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • A proactive and organised approach with strong attention to detail.
