Business Analyst – Data & Analytics

Short-term rental properties are now a significant part of the UK’s visitor economy and can provide increased choice and flexibility for tourists and business travellers.

The introduction of the Short-Term Rental Registration Scheme has been brought about to support the government in getting the balance right to ensure both local people and our visitor economy can thrive.

We follow the principle of “Locate for your Day,” which means that we expect people to use their own judgment to decide the best place to work to meet the needs of the business.

The majority of our roles can be performed predominantly remotely, however, we are not a fully remote organisation as we recognise the importance of face-to-face connection, so you will be expected to spend some time in the office.

We operate from our Global Hub at Victoria Square House in Birmingham and maintain a small presence in Central London.

Our Global Hub is located in Birmingham, which is our primary location, however, many of our employees are located across the UK. Therefore, working in another location may be required on occasion. You will be expected to commute to your usual place (Birmingham) of work at your own cost and any requests for you to travel further will be compensated.

The Business Analyst (STR Scheme) is a key delivery role within the Data & Analytics team, supporting the operational and analytical work streams of the Short-Term Rental Registration Scheme. The postholder will own the connection between technical delivery, programme governance, and stakeholder engagement — ensuring that data requirements are clearly defined, actions are tracked and owned, and that the programme has the information it needs to make good decisions.

The role spans both inward-facing work such as supporting the data platform team and the operational data build process through to outward-facing discovery by engaging with booking platforms, Local Authorities, Local Visitor Economy Partnerships (LVEPs), and other partners to understand their data needs and how the scheme can serve them.

This is a programme-critical role that offers significant scope for the postholder to help shape how the scheme and stakeholder engagement functions are ope rationalised to benefit the visitor economy.
