Senior Business Rates Officer

Birmingham. Full time, permanent with hybrid working.

The candidate will need to work within the National Rating team’s Rates Management & Payments function to ensure that key roles are carried out to successfully deliver this service for clients. The task will require a candidate to work independently with an elevated level of accuracy managing a large volume of work. The role’s primary focus would be to manage several client accounts with support as required.

• Work with clients to manage their rate liability
• Train and coach junior members and assist with their development
• Manage your own clients through the whole process from bill to payment
• Utilise rating technology to manage the process
• Adhere to rules relating to RICS regulations and internal rating governance

• Business Rates Management or Payment experience (essential)
• Accurate and exceptional attention to detail
• Microsoft Office user
• Good administrator
• Experience of working with all stakeholders; clients, internal heads, peers
• Accountable, Flexible, responsible and dependable
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills (written and oral)
• Maintains a positive attitude towards routine tasks
• Understands and appreciates the importance of using discretion
• Team player who deals effectively with colleagues and clients
