Hourly Rate:£13.85 – £14.87 (dependent on experience)

About the Role

As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you’ll help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating home for young people aged 14–18.

You’ll support the team, participate in day-to-day care, and contribute to a positive environment where young people can thrive, develop resilience, and enjoy new experiences. Your work will directly impact their daily lives, helping them reach their full potential.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Carry out domestic duties to maintain a homely, welcoming environment
  • Support young people in daily activities, personal development, and wellbeing
  • Safeguard and protect the welfare of each young person
  • Establish and maintain trusting relationships
  • Manage behaviour positively and assertively according to care plans
  • Participate in team meetings to encourage good communication and staff development
  • Undertake training to achieve a Level 3 Childcare Diploma

What You’ll Need
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children (in care, education, or relevant setting)
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Willingness to work towards, or already hold, a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce
  • Good standard of written and verbal English
  • Calm, resilient, and caring approach
  • Confidence to challenge ways of working and encourage positive outcomes
