The role would suit a Building Control professional with previous experience in the sector, offering their services to a range of clients and projects. We are looking for a candidate with experience in residential building safety.
Role Responsibilities- Advising clients on building safety, especially in the residential sector and higher-risk buildings.
- Supporting clients with building safety documentation and resident engagement.
- Writing building safety cases, resident engagement strategies, and health and safety management systems.
- Ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act and related regulations.
- Conducting building safety case reviews, fire risk assessments, and developing safety management systems.
- Leading on client engagement and communication regarding building safety.
- Advising on remedial actions, safety improvements, and ongoing compliance.
- Provide technical advice to clients, contractors, developers, colleagues, and key stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are completed in line with current building regulations and legislation.
- Building safety qualification (or working towards)
- Health and safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate)
- Preferable:
Fire safety qualification or demonstrable experience - Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., IOSH, CIOB, IFE)
- Experience with quality and technical monitoring on construction projects.
- Knowledge of UK building regulations, Approved Document B, and relevant British Standards.
