The role will initially involve approximately two months of night works carrying out trial holes, followed by a six-month Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase before progressing into the main junction improvement works. This is a key leadership position, ensuring efficient site operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to the development of the construction programme and maintain clear awareness of weekly targets
* Plan and manage site setup, ensuring all facilities and systems are in place prior to project commencement
* Manage and coordinate subcontractors and supply chain partners on site
* Take full ownership of health, safety, environmental, quality and sustainability (HSEQS) compliance
* Ensure quality control procedures are implemented and maintained throughout the works
* Ensure Temporary Works Register (TWR) is in place, accurate and regularly updated
* Monitor and report onsite energy usage and waste data
* Ensure effective site access and registration systems are in place for all personnel
* Proactively identify and escalate risks or issues that may impact programme, cost, resources, materials or safety
* Drive project momentum and plan daily site activities efficiently
* Coordinate and prioritise site activities to meet programme and delivery targets
* Lead, manage and motivate foremen and site-based teams
Key Requirements
* Trade or technical background within civil engineering or construction
* IOSH or equivalent health & safety management qualification
* Temporary Works and Excavation Safety training
* Experience with permitting requirements for live energy works
* Competency in Working at Height and Scaffolding operations
* Experience overseeing Lifting and Cranage operations
* Additional HSEQS training in line with site requirements
* Awareness of new technologies and digital systems within construction
* Understanding of BIM strategies and their application on site
