Preconstruction Design Manager

• Oversee the preconstruction phase of projects, ensuring designs meet client specifications and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to create cost-effective and efficient designs
• Manage the project design budget and timeline
• Work closely with the client team liaising on multiple projects
• Maintain effective communication with the customer on all agreed actions to ensure that any issues are resolved to their satisfaction
• Lead design team meetings and provide regular updates to senior management on project progress
• Ensure all projects adhere to company standards and industry regulations
• Facilitate communication between all project stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures throughout the design and construction process

• Proven experience as a Design Manager for a main contractor
• Experience in the construction industry, specifically within preconstruction on design and build, new build and refurbishment projects
• Good knowledge of current CDM and Building Regulations
• Experience of managing document management systems
• Experience overseeing the preconstruction phase of projects to ensure designs meet client specifications and regulatory requirements
• Ability to collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to create cost-effective and efficient designs
• Ability to work closely with the client team liaising on multiple projects
• Ability to maintain effective communication with the customer on all agreed actions to ensure that any issues are resolved to their satisfaction
• Ability to ensure all projects adhere to company standards and industry regulations
• Ability to facilitate communication between all project stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
• Experience implementing and maintaining quality control procedures throughout the tender design process

• Ability to communicate with a range of people at all levels, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to make reasoned and informed commercial judgments and design decisions
• Ability to plan, organise and manage all aspects of the design
