Quantity Surveyor – Permanent Position (Leicester)

We are a leading contractor delivering high‑profile construction projects across the UK and are seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to join our team.

Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be a vital member of the project team, responsible for managing aspects of the commercial and contractual activities on the assigned sections of the project. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the project's financial success and delivering it to the highest standards of quality, within budget and on schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive cost estimation and prepare accurate cost plans
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and agreement of terms
  • Monitor project costs and variations, providing proactive cost advice and control measures
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and risk management
  • Collaborate with the project team to address commercial issues and find cost‑effective solutions
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports on project financial performance
  • Conduct cost and value reconciliations, as well as interim and final account agreements
  • Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team
Requirements

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry (or extensive experience ready to step up portfolio of façade construction and façade remediation projects), ideally with a main contractor background managing large‑scale façade packages, including cladding, glazing, curtain‑walling, and external wall system works.

  • Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Thorough understanding of various forms of construction contracts
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive and collaborative approach to problem‑solving
