Overview

A property consultancy is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their team delivering building surveying and property surveying services across a national workload. The building surveyor will be based in Birmingham, supporting building surveying delivery across a range of sectors.

Role

As the Building Surveyor you will deliver professional building surveying services across a varied portfolio of instructions.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct building, measured and condition surveys and prepare clear client reports
  • Prepare and negotiate dilapidations assessments
  • Provide contract administration for refurbishment, extension and new build projects
  • Support preparation of tender documentation, contracts and client agreements
  • Undertake site inspections to monitor project progress, cost control and potential risks
  • Support feasibility studies and option appraisal work
  • Advise on party wall and neighbourly matters where required
  • Complete building reinstatement cost assessments
  • Prepare planned preventative maintenance schedules and reports
  • Work with wider project and technical teams to support delivery outcomes
  • Support business development activity when appropriate
Qualifications
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in building surveying or a property related discipline
  • Experience working as a Building Surveyor delivering commercial or public sector surveying work
  • Strong understanding of building surveying services including condition, project and professional work
  • Ability to manage multiple surveying instructions and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with relevant surveying and project software
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Right to work in the UK
