We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Level Chartered Building Surveyor to join our established L&I Technical Due Diligence & Commercial Building Surveying team. The core responsibilities primarily relate to commercial building surveying with a varied workload including professional and technical advisory. The successful candidate will be expected to be technically excellent and have a broad range of experience in commercial surveying and consultancy.

The role will involve mixed and varied workload, balancing multiple instructions simultaneously while focusing on service delivery as part of a larger commission team and achieving exceptional outcomes for clients. The candidate should be confident in dealing directly with the client, manage time effectively to meet deadlines, and ensure time expended aligns with cost forecasts to maintain profitability of instructions.

• Perform predominantly commercial building surveying work with some project management across a range of building types, largely commercial. Experience in professional work such as dilapidations is desirable.
• Assume a high level of responsibility and accountability, with opportunities to develop managerial and technical knowledge and progress within a growing specialist team.
• Manage risk in service delivery and contribute to service delivery improvement initiatives.
• Drive organic revenue growth and implement the business plan for the commercial building surveying offering.
• Undertake professional technical consultancy commissions, including Technical Due Diligence, condition surveys, LTAs, PPM schedules, etc.
• Communicate effectively, ensuring all information is available for successful implementation and completion of projects.
• Liaise with Project Managers and Team Leaders to ensure efficient financial control and a cost‑effective service.
• Represent the company in a professional and diligent manner.
• Provide the Sector Director with quantified information on the progress of each contract on a regular basis.
• Mentor and supervise junior building surveyors.

• Degree and MRICS qualified (minimum 3 years PQE).
• Multi‑discipline experience.
• Team player capable of developing and maintaining excellent relationships, gaining the confidence of other professionals within and outside the company.
