Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor
📍 Birmingham, West Midlands
💰 £45,000 – £60,000 (DOE)

Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for both a Quantity Surveyor (QS) and a Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS) to join a well-established construction business delivering fit-out and minor works projects across the Midlands and wider UK.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing commercial team with strong project pipelines, structured career progression, and exposure to a variety of fast-paced construction projects valued up to £5m.

Key Responsibilities
Quantity Surveyor:
 
* Assist in preparing cost plans, budgets, and financial reporting
 
* Measure works and support pricing of variations and change control
 
* Assist with subcontract procurement and order documentation
 
* Support subcontractor payments and interim valuations
 
* Contribute to monthly CVRs and cost reporting
 
* Assist with final account preparation
 
* Support commercial and site teams with day-to-day project delivery
Senior Quantity Surveyor:
 
* Take ownership of project cost management from start to finish
 
* Lead procurement of subcontractors and manage contract documentation
 
* Prepare and present monthly CVRs and financial reports
 
* Manage variations, change control, and final accounts
 
* Oversee subcontractor accounts and payment processes
 
* Identify and manage commercial risks across projects
 
* Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team
Requirements
 
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
 
* Experience with in the construction industry (fit-out or building works preferred)
 
* Strong understanding of JCT contracts (NEC experience beneficial)
 
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
 
* Good communication and negotiation skills
 
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
 
* Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
 
* Organised, proactive, and commercially aware
