Site Manager / General Foreman - Earthworks & Civil Engineering | Permanent | West Midlands

Are you an experienced Site Manager or General Foreman with a strong background in earthworks and civil engineering? We are working exclusively with a well-established, privately-owned civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced operational leader for an upcoming earthworks scheme in the West Midlands. This is an opportunity to join a business that delivers technically challenging projects and invests in its people.

The initial project is a manageable-sized earthworks scheme, making it an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, leading from the front and taking ownership of site operations.

• Managing earthworks operations including cut and fill activities.
• Material management, movement and control across site.
• Ensuring compliance with the earthworks specification, including placement, compaction and testing requirements.
• Coordinating subcontractors, plant and direct labour.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental compliance and quality.
• Programming daily activities to ensure the project remains on schedule.
• Liaising with engineers, clients and the wider delivery team.

We’re keen to speak with candidates who have proven experience delivering earthworks and infrastructure projects.

• Previous experience as a Site Manager or General Foreman within civil engineering.
• Strong knowledge of earthworks, material management, testing and quality control.
• Experience delivering infrastructure or heavy civils projects.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• SMSTS or SSSTS (depending on level), CSCS and First Aid.

Please note:

This role is not suited to candidates whose experience is predominantly within traditional housing groundworks. The projects delivered by our client are focused on wider civil engineering and infrastructure schemes rather than residential developer packages.
