Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Key Responsibilities
* Administer and manage NEC Contracts and JCT Contracts effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
* Review and negotiate subcontract terms and conditions with both clients and subcontractors.
* Monitor project costs, revenue, profitability, and overall financial performance.
* Prepare and submit applications for payment, ensuring smooth management of payment processes.
* Manage and agree project variations, including change control procedures.
* Prepare, negotiate, and finalise project accounts.
* Procure subcontractors and suppliers in line with project requirements.
* Produce monthly CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) reports and commercial forecasts.
* Prepare loss and expense claims, as well as documentation for dispute resolution when required.
* Work closely with Estimating, Finance, and Contracts teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
* Conduct regular site visits to monitor project performance and identify potential commercial risks.
* Support the mentoring and development of junior Quantity Surveyors where appropriate.
* Ensure all stakeholders understand contractual obligations and associated commercial risks. Senior Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering or construction sector.
* Strong working knowledge of NEC Contracts and JCT Contracts contracts.
* Previous experience in a specialist subcontracting environment is desirable.
* Experience in piling, geotechnical engineering, or ground engineering would be advantageous.
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (preferred).
* Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation skills.
* Excellent analytical, organisational, and numerical abilities.
* Ability to manage multiple projects independently and work autonomously.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
* Proficient IT skills, including experience with commercial and project costing software.
