Senior Design Manager

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor for an experienced Senior Design Manager to join the team on a major healthcare development in North Birmingham.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of a 95 Bed Care Home, working alongside experienced project teams from pre-construction through to completion.

Lead and manage the design process from tender stage through to project handover.

• Coordinate architects, consultants, subcontractors and client teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Manage design programmes, technical approvals and statutory compliance.
• Drive buildability, value engineering and risk mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical support to site teams and ensure design information is delivered in line with programme requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key project stakeholders.

• Senior Design Manager or experienced Design Manager with a main contractor background.

• Proven experience delivering complex construction projects, ideally within healthcare, although experience in residential, education, commercial or care homes will also be considered.
• Strong understanding of design management, Building Regulations and technical coordination.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple design packages within a fast-paced project environment.
