The Project Manager will manage infrastructure projects from initial briefing through to completion, coordinating clients, consultants and contractors throughout the process. The successful Project Manager will control programme, risk, quality and project reporting while supporting senior colleagues on larger commissions. This position would suit a proactive Project Manager who can communicate confidently and manage competing priorities.
You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.
The Project Manager's role
The Project Manager will oversee the day-to-day delivery of infrastructure schemes across Birmingham and the wider Midlands.
Responsibilities will include preparing project programmes, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, monitoring progress and managing risk and change. The Project Manager will chair meetings, maintain project documentation, prepare client reports and ensure actions are completed within agreed timescales.
The role will also involve supporting procurement activity, reviewing contractor performance and maintaining strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders. As the Project Manager develops, they will be encouraged to take greater responsibility for complex commissions and contribute to the continued growth of the infrastructure team.
The Project Manager
The successful Project Manager will have:
Previous project management experience within a construction consultancy
Experience delivering infrastructure, utilities, transport or public-realm projects
A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, CEng or progress towards a relevant professional qualification
A good understanding of procurement, contracts and project controls
Strong client-facing, organisational and report-writing skills
The ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage several priorities
A proactive and commercially aware approach
