Overview
We are seeking experienced NEC Supervisors / Project Engineers to support the delivery of a significant UK infrastructure programme. This is an exciting opportunity to work on major civil engineering works, ensuring construction activities are delivered in accordance with contract requirements, technical specifications, quality standards, and health & safety legislation.
The role combines both site and office-based working and requires regular attendance across project locations within the programme route.
Working Arrangements
Successful candidates will be assigned to one of several project sections across the Midlands and South East, with a requirement to:
Attend designated site offices approximately 2 days per week
Work from regional project offices as required, including locations such as:
Birmingham
London
Milton Keynes
Other project offices across the programme
Regular site visits and inspections will form a key part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake the duties of the NEC Supervisor in accordance with NEC contract requirements.
Monitor and inspect construction works to ensure compliance with specifications, approved designs, and contractual obligations.
Review and assess Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
Inspect completed works and identify defects, non-conformances, and quality issues.
Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and site documentation.
Liaise effectively with contractors, designers, project managers, and key stakeholders.
Review design and construction drawings to confirm compliance and constructability.
Monitor quality assurance processes throughout project delivery.
Support project health, safety, environmental, and quality objectives.
Ensure compliance with CDM 2015 and relevant UK construction legislation.
Attend site inspections, technical reviews, and project meetings as required.
Essential Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience working as either:
NEC Supervisor, and/or
Clerk of Works
Experience working on major civil engineering, transportation, or infrastructure projects.
NEC3 Supervisor Accreditation.
Strong understanding of NEC contract administration and supervision responsibilities.
Demonstrable experience reviewing:
Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
Design drawings
Construction drawings
Good understanding of quality assurance, inspection, and compliance processes.
Knowledge of CDM 2015 and UK construction regulations.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Comfortable driving 4x4 vehicles across active construction sites.
Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
