An established Main Contractor is looking to appoint an Estimator to join their pre-construction team based out of their Birmingham office
.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator with main contracting experience to join a business looking to strengthen its pre-construction function.

The Role

As Estimator, you will be involved throughout the tender process, working alongside the wider pre-construction, commercial and operational teams to produce competitive and accurate tenders.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Producing accurate cost plans
• Identifying potential risks and opportunities within tenders
• Exploring value engineering opportunities
• Liaising with subcontractors and the wider supply chain
• Working closely with commercial, design and operational teams
• Supporting tender presentations and adjudications
• Assisting with the handover of successfully secured projects to the delivery team

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as an Estimator within the construction industry
• Experience working for a Main Contractor
• A strong understanding of construction methods, costs and tendering processes
• Good commercial awareness
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• The ability to manage tenders and work to deadlines
