Senior Building Surveyor Birmingham ? £50,000 - £65,000 DOE + Car Allowance Eden Brown is delighted to be partnering with a leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy in the search for an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join its growing Birmingham team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious and commercially minded Building Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career within a forward-thinking and collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting senior leadership, driving project delivery across multiple sectors, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to the continued growth of the Birmingham office. You will lead both simple and complex projects across sectors including Residential, Education, Leisure, Healthcare, and Blue Light, whilst helping to shape innovative ways of working within an expanding team.

Opportunity
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams across a diverse portfolio of projects.
  • Deliver core building surveying, design, tendering, and project management services.
  • Support business growth through client relationship management and business development activities.
  • Manage project fees and financial performance.
  • Provide line management and mentoring to junior surveyors.
  • Contribute technical expertise, thought leadership, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Support the leadership team in developing new opportunities and enhancing service delivery.
Essential Requirements
  • RICS-accredited Building Surveying degree (BSc or MSc).
  • MRICS or MCIOB status (or due to sit chartership assessment in Autumn 2026).
  • Minimum 5 years consultancy experience.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience in fee management and project financial control.
  • Previous line management and mentoring experience.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Leadership & Project Management:
    Strong experience managing complex projects and multidisciplinary teams. Excellent delegation, workload management, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills. A track record of delivering multiple projects and programmes successfully.
  • Technical Expertise:
    Comprehensive building surveying knowledge. Experience delivering design, tendering, and project management services. Ability to provide high-quality technical advice and client support.
  • Commercial Awareness:
    Strong business development skills and commercial acumen. Ability to identify opportunities and build long-term client relationships. Experience with in residential or education sectors would be advantageous.
  • Team Development:
    Passion for mentoring and developing less experienced team members.
Desirable Experience
  • RICS APC Counsellor experience.
  • Residential, housing or education sector expertise.
  • Professional services experience including Party Wall, Dilapidations, Disrepair or Defect Analysis.
  • Healthcare sector knowledge.
  • Fire compliance expertise.
  • Building pathology and defect diagnosis experience.
  • Listed buildings and conservation knowledge.
  • Key account management and business development experience.
