Your impact

You will help major infrastructure and development projects move forward by supporting the effective management of land, property rights and the people affected by them.

Land and property considerations can influence how, when and whether a project can be delivered. Your work will help project teams understand who owns or occupies land, identify the rights and interests connected to it, and communicate clearly with landowners, communities and other stakeholders.

This is an entry-level opportunity where you can turn your interest in land, property, geography, infrastructure or the built environment into a long-term professional career. You will be supported by experienced colleagues while contributing to real projects across transportation, water, environment, power and energy.

Our Land and Property team supports the land management activities and statutory processes needed to deliver major infrastructure and development projects across the UK. As an Assistant Land Specialist, you will help project teams understand land ownership, property rights, access requirements and the needs of people affected by development. You could contribute to projects across transportation, water, environment, power and energy, gaining broad exposure to how land and property considerations shape successful project delivery.

Working alongside experienced land, property, engineering and project professionals, you will help research ownership information, review maps and property records, maintain accurate project documentation and communicate with landowners, residents, businesses and public bodies. You will gradually build practical knowledge of land referencing, land assembly, consents and statutory processes, with support to develop the technical, communication and project skills needed for a long-term career in the profession.

Land and property is a critical but sometimes less visible part of infrastructure delivery. You will develop expertise that can lead to future opportunities across land referencing, land agency, land assembly, consents, stakeholder engagement and project management.

You will work alongside experienced colleagues and develop your knowledge through live project work. The team operates across transportation, water, environmental, power and energy programmes, giving you exposure to different challenges rather than one repetitive type of assignment.

You will collaborate with people from land, property, engineering and project backgrounds. This will help you understand how technical projects move from planning into delivery and how land requirements affect the people and communities involved.
