Job Description & How to Apply Below
An established construction business specialising in the design and delivery of commercial and industrial buildings, with a particular focus on logistics, warehouses and distribution facilities.

The business operates through a turnkey, design-and-build model, bringing design, engineering, procurement and construction together under one roof.

The UK operation has teams across Birmingham, Manchester, London and Cardiff, with Birmingham acting as the UK head office. Its project portfolio includes large-scale industrial and logistics developments, as well as offices, schools and multi-storey car parks.

The Role

They are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team on a permanent basis. This is a site-based role, with the majority of projects located across the West and East Midlands.

You will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects, working closely with the project, design and procurement teams to ensure projects are delivered effectively and commercially.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial management of projects from procurement through to final account

Managing and procuring subcontractor packages

Preparing and reviewing valuations and payment applications

Managing variations, change and commercial risk

Cost reporting, forecasting and financial control

Managing subcontractor accounts and commercial relationships

Reviewing contracts and ensuring commercial obligations are met

Working closely with the project and design teams throughout the build

About You

The ideal candidate will have experience working on logistics, warehouse, distribution, industrial or similar large-scale construction projects.

You will need a good understanding of the key packages associated with these types of projects, with experience managing subcontractors and the commercial delivery of complex schemes.

Experience across packages such as groundworks, steelwork, cladding, roofing, M&E, fit-out and external works would be particularly relevant.

This is a good opportunity for a QS who wants genuine commercial responsibility and the chance to work on large, technically interesting projects, rather than smaller or repetitive schemes
