We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and hard working dental nurse to join the Orthodontic Dental Nursing team to support with New Patient Consultation, Fixed & Removable appliances, MDT clinics for hypodontia, Orthognathic treatment, Cleft and Restorative.

The post holder will be expected to support the evening and weekend clinical activity on a rota basis.

• WTE: 1.0 (37.5 hrs) – Permanent
• Band 4 Dental Nurse – to work within the service between Birmingham Dental Hospital & Glebefields Health Centre according to service need.
• Flexible work across the Dental Hospital and outreach sites (including Mobile Clinics).
• Provide chair side assistance to clinicians, carry out clerical and administrative duties, and ensure efficient operation of the clinic.

• Maintain a high standard of patient care and confidentiality within all dental clinics throughout the service.
• Prepare and monitor patients for and during their dental treatment, providing pre and post operative instructions as required.
• Perform general care of the surgery including dental equipment/instruments and arrange any necessary repairs.
• Ensure medical emergency drugs and equipment are available and up to date.
• Provide chair side assistance and postoperative instructions during general anaesthetic and exodontia sessions.
• Provide oral health education to patients as required by the clinician.
• Assist the Senior Dental Nurse in the smooth running of the Dental service.
• Support and assist clinicians, including all student disciplines.
• Support and supervise all apprentice nurses and undergraduate groups.
