Architect - Retail

Your Role

Gensler’s Birmingham office is seeking an experienced Architect with strong technical skills and experience in the Retail & Lifestyle sectors. You will be experienced in Revit and bring a proactive, highly motivated attitude eager to learn. As a self‑motivated team player, you will collaborate with Architects and Interior Design colleagues across Gensler’s practice areas, fully integrating into design teams from test fits through technical detailing and construction documentation.

• Contribute to the design of unique environments, providing exemplar design knowledge from concept to completion of projects across all design stages.
• Design world‑class buildings and participate in all phases of the design process, including programming, concept design, schematic design, design and technical development, specification and tendering processes.
• Support Principals in developing client, contractor, and design team communications, and maintain strong external and internal relationships.
• Prepare plans, elevations, details, and sections through to detailed construction drawings.

• Undergraduate or master’s degree in Architecture or Architecture Technology with demonstrable experience in design, detailing, and/or construction documentation.
• Proficiency in Revit (a must); experience in Rhino, Grasshopper, and 3
  
  Ds Max is advantageous.
• Experience with in the Retail and Lifestyle sectors.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and graphic presentation skills.
• Experience with international projects is an advantage.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines efficiently.
