Role: Apprentice CAD Designer
Location: Stunning state‑of‑the‑art office in Birmingham with onsite amenities. The apprenticeship requires attending South & City Birmingham College 1 day per week.
Salary: Starting at £17,500 per annum, increasing after 12 months of service.

We are temporary traffic management CAD design experts working within a variety of industries. We provide temporary traffic management designs for urban and rural roads, dual carriageway and motorways across the UK using the latest industry software. In addition, we offer vehicle swept path analysis, consultancy, RRRAP assessments, BIM/3D design and traffic modelling. AboutThe Role
This is a full‑time, permanent position. The apprentice will gain a Level 4 apprenticeship standard and a civil engineering qualification while working with the design team to develop skills and knowledge. The role includes:
Responsibilities- Develop an understanding of the sector through observation and working closely with your mentor
- Produce and design scaled and schematic temporary traffic management drawings
- Assist with design modifications to facilitate operations
- Ensure drawings comply with guidelines
- Keep paperwork up to date
- Maintain CAD models, drawings and associated files
- Work with lead designers to improve BricsCAD skills and maintain a consistent high standard of presentation
- Receive continual health & safety and Lantra approved training
- Complete all training associated with the apprenticeship
You are organised, hard working, and eager to learn a career in CAD design. You work well under pressure, meet deadlines, are reliable, and put in extra effort.
Essential Attributes- Suitable Level 3 qualification and GCSE Maths and English grade C/4 or above or equivalent
- Driving licence or willingness to take lessons – road knowledge and awareness are necessary as you will travel as part of your placement
- Excellent IT skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Interest in AutoCAD or similar packages
- Excellent communication skills when dealing with clients and colleagues
- High level of accuracy
- Analytical skills
- Creative flair
- Ability to generate ideas and put them into practice
- Ability to work in a small team and add value as a team player
