Senior Architectural Technician

The Senior Architectural Technician role in Birmingham offers a permanent position with a salary between £45,000 and £55,000 depending on experience. Working on public sector and Ministry of Justice projects, you will act as a technical advisor rather than producing full design packages. Your responsibilities include reviewing contractor proposals, preparing tender documentation, and ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and British Standards.

This role requires strong knowledge of technical standards and the ability to work closely with clients and stakeholders.

Full-time working is expected.

• Preparing technical briefs, tender documentation and performance specifications
• Reviewing contractor proposals and technical design information
• Producing concept and tender stage drawing packages where required
• Undertaking site visits and inspections across the South East
• Acting as the technical representative for the client throughout project delivery
• Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, British Standards and technical requirements
• Managing relationships with contractors, consultants and key stakeholders
• Leading technical discussions and resolving design and construction queries

• Qualified Architectural Technologist, Architectural Technician or Technical Architect
• Strong technical knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction
• Experience preparing technical drawing packages and specifications
• Confident client-facing with excellent communication skills
• Comfortable challenging technical proposals and making informed decisions
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across the South East
• Revit and/or AutoCAD experience
