Overview of the Role
An Architect job is available in Birmingham, providing architectural design and project delivery across a range of projects and work stages. The role will involve design development, technical coordination, regulatory compliance and construction-stage duties, with particular involvement in education and DfE projects.
Practice & Project InformationThis established architectural practice delivers multi-disciplinary architectural services across varied project stages. The team uses CAD and BIM processes alongside quality assurance and project management procedures. Architects contribute to design reviews, technical coordination, client presentations, project meetings and construction-stage activities.
Key Responsibilities- Research and develop architectural solutions in response to project briefs, technical requirements and client needs
- Prepare measured surveys, site reports, presentation materials and coordinated design information using CAD and BIM
- Develop concept, detailed and technical designs, coordinating engineering disciplines, manufacturers and statutory requirements
- Produce drawings and supporting information for planning, building control, tender and construction stages
- Monitor compliance with Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act 2022, relevant Gateway requirements and CDM Regulations 2015
- Attend project and site meetings, undertake contract administration duties, site inspections and maintain quality assurance records
- Part 3 qualified and ARB registered
- Strong experience managing projects across all RIBA stages
- Previous experience working on education and DfE projects
- Ability to produce coordinated architectural designs using appropriate building technologies and construction techniques
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
- Good understanding of technical standards, Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act, CDM Regulations and professional architectural responsibilities
Salary up to £45,000 DOE. Benefits include 23 days' holiday plus bank holidays, practice-paid Westfield healthcare, matched pension contributions up to 5%, summer and Christmas parties, team events, CPDs, professional training and support.
