Job Description & How to Apply Below
With over 30 years of experience, this is a collaborative and design-focused practice with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality architectural solutions across a diverse range of sectors. Their portfolio spans Industrial & Logistics, Commercial, Healthcare, Education, Residential, Leisure, Community, Heritage and High Security, meaning there is plenty of variety in the work and opportunities to broaden your experience.
That said, the bulk of this role will focus on Industrial & Logistics and Commercial projects, making it particularly well suited to an Architect with a strong background in these sectors.
The Role
As a Senior Architect, you will take a key role in the delivery of a variety of exciting projects, working closely with clients, consultants and the wider design team.
The practice has extensive expertise across the Industrial & Logistics sector, delivering everything from smaller extensions through to advanced manufacturing facilities exceeding 200,000 sq ft, as well as large-scale site masterplans. Their Commercial portfolio includes offices, retail, mixed-use developments, refurbishments and extensions, working predominantly with private-sector clients.
You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, contribute to design development and help deliver schemes from concept through to completion, whilst working within a supportive and collaborative studio environment.
Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to the design and delivery of projects, predominantly across Industrial & Logistics and Commercial sectors
Develop high-quality architectural solutions that balance design, functionality and the needs of the end user
Take responsibility for projects through relevant RIBA stages and coordinate effectively with clients, consultants and contractors
Produce and oversee design information, drawings and technical documentation
Contribute to planning, technical development and project delivery
Attend client and design team meetings and build strong professional relationships
Support and mentor more junior members of the team
Collaborate with colleagues across architecture, BIM, sustainability, interiors, project management and other disciplines
Contribute to the continued development of the practice and its design-led approach
About You
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Architect or Senior Architect with a strong track record within UK architectural practice.
You will ideally have experience working on Industrial & Logistics and/or Commercial projects, although candidates from other sectors with strong technical and project delivery experience will also be considered.
Revit proficiency would be highly desirable, alongside a good understanding of BIM and the ability to produce and coordinate high-quality technical information.
You should be confident working independently, managing your own workload and taking responsibility for projects, whilst also being a collaborative team player. Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach are important, as is a genuine passion for delivering well-designed, functional and sustainable buildings.
Why Join?
This is a genuinely great place to work, with a supportive, positive and collaborative culture at its heart. The practice places considerable emphasis on its people and provides opportunities for professional development through mentoring, CPDs and internal focus groups covering areas such as BIM, design, sustainability, healthcare, ESG, accessibility and marketing.
There is also a strong social side to the practice, with team events, activities and opportunities to get involved beyond day-to-day project work.
The working environment is designed to provide genuine flexibility and a healthy work-life balance, including:
£45,000-£52,000
Hybrid working – 3 days in the office and 2 days from home (after initial probationary period)
Early finish on Fridays
Early start / early finish arrangements available
37.5-hour working week
25 days annual leave, increasing with length of service
Annual bonus scheme
Company pension scheme
Mental health and wellbeing support
