Job Summary
Sherwood House Medical Practice are looking for 2 newly qualified GP's to join our team doing 6 sessions a week. The newly qualified GP's must not have qualified more than two years ago and must not have worked in a salaried position.
About UsOur current team consists of four Practice Partners, 4 salaried GP's, a team of junior doctors doing rotations. We have a Practice Nurse, Nurse Associate, 2 Phlebotomists and a lovely Admin Team.

Salaried GP (NQGP)
Hours and Working Pattern6 sessions per week, including one on‑call day covering 8 am–6:30 pm.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide medical services to any patients of the practice and to temporary residents in accordance with the Partnership GMS Contract.
- Offer a salaried GP service working in collaboration with the Clinical Team to provide safe and effective clinical care to our patients.
- Support same‑day and planned appointments – both telephone consultations and face‑to‑face.
- Assess, diagnose, treat, refer or signpost patients who attend consultations.
- Provide good patient education enabling them to make informed choices about their care.
- Manage a caseload.
- Provide support to GP colleagues, nurses and other practice staff.
- Ensure compliance with Practice Protocols and policies, including achieving QOF targets.
- Prepare medical reports for insurance companies.
- Contribute to the development of and adherence to protocols/systems for the management of common medical conditions.
- Participate in clinical governance activity and contribute to improvement in quality of health outcomes through the audit programme.
- Participate in the training and development of nurses, medical students, and GP Registrars in the Practice.
- Support the staff and respond to requests for advice and assistance from the Partnership Reception, Secretarial and Nursing staff.
- Maintain the partnership’s high clinical standards by reviewing patients’ results, prescribing, disease, etc., using audit data.
- Perform daily tasks such as results, letters, reports, repeat prescribing.
- Prescribe safe and effective medicines in accordance with NICE guidance, DH directives, Good Prescribing Practice, BNF guidance, and Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain standards.
- Operate safe management for all patients receiving repeat prescriptions.
- Support complaints policy and procedure to ensure proper investigation and appropriate follow‑up in the event of a complaint.
- Have one on‑call day a week and cover in periods of staff leave/absence.
- Staff must respect patients’ privacy and act appropriately with all confidential information.
- Information accessed in the course of duties is strictly confidential and may only be disclosed to authorized persons in accordance with policy.
- Confidentiality extends to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers and business information.
- Implement health and safety and infection control as defined by policy and practice manual.
- Use personal security systems, maintain cleanliness, manage specimens correctly, practice hand hygiene, safe handling of sharps, disaster management, waste management.
- Actively identify, report and correct health and safety hazards.
- Safeguard children and promote their welfare.
- Support the equality, diversity and rights of patients, carers and colleagues.
- Respect privacy, dignity, needs and beliefs of all individuals.
- Behave in a welcoming, non‑judgmental manner and respect circumstances, feelings and rights.
- Communicate effectively with team members, patients and carers.
- Recognise and respond to alternative communication needs.
- Newly Qualified GP – qualified within the last 2 years and not previously held a salaried position.
- Current UK professional registration.
