for a 6-month to 1-year Resident Registrar post in Paediatric Surgery within our department at Birmingham Children's Hospital, one of the busiest in the United Kingdom. The post will be on the Resident (1 in
8) tier of Paediatric Surgery and Urology on call rota (depending on the experience of the successful applicant). Further details about the resident and non-resident tiers are provided below.
The Department of Paediatric Surgery and Urology consist of 14 Consultant Paediatric Surgeons and Urologists. We serve a regional population of over 5 million, as well as receiving supra-regional referrals for complex cases. In addition, two Paediatric Hepatobiliary and Transplant surgeons provide their training expertise.
The placement offers exposure to a wide range of Paediatric Surgery and Urology at tertiary level. Successful Candidates will join the team on the Resident Registrar Tier on the Paediatric Surgery and Urology on call rota (please see job description for a description of the tiered rota).
Applicants should possess either the MBBS or recognised equivalent European equivalent.
Due to the nature of the position, the successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
