We have been assigned by one of the UK's most prestigious NHS Trusts to help recruit a Consultant in Histopathology on either a Substantive or NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Histopathology department.
Department and ServicesThe appointee will join a department specializing in services including cancer diagnosis and treatment, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, renal and dialysis services, neonatal intensive care, and paediatric intensive care. The department is recognized for expertise in trauma, respiratory conditions, spinal surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery, complex orthopaedic surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and liver condition management. The cellular pathology processes over 65,000 surgical cases, 5,500 non-gynaecological cytology cases, and 1,000 post-mortems annually, mostly for HM Coroner.
The laboratory is modern, well-equipped, and offers facilities for immunohistochemistry, rapid processing, FISH, and molecular services.
The successful appointee will join a team of 16 Consultant Histopathologists and 3 specialty doctors to develop the North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service (NMCPS).
Responsibilities include:
- Full-time or part-time considered
- 10 Programmed Activities (P.A's)
