We are seeking an experienced Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry to join our NHS client in Birmingham, West Midlands. This locum opportunity is available for an immediate start on a short-term contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert psychiatric care within a CAMHS inpatient setting, specifically within a General Adolescent Unit (GAU)
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored treatment plans for young people
- Act as the Responsible Clinician (RC) and ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act (MHA)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic, patient-centred care
- Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to service development and clinical governance
Qualifications & Experience
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise (essential)
- Approved Clinician (AC) status (essential)
- Extensive experience in CAMHS, inpatient psychiatry, and GAU settings
- Previous experience in a consultant role
