A successful and well‑led secondary school in Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher to join their Humanities faculty from January 2026. This role is perfect for an engaging practitioner who can deliver high‑quality History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and contribute to a positive and ambitious school culture.
The Role- Teach History across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE.
- Plan and deliver well‑structured, engaging lessons that bring historical topics to life.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support mixed‑ability learners.
- Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and drive achievement.
- Maintain excellent behaviour routines and establish a purposeful classroom environment.
- Contribute to curriculum development and department improvement.
- Inspire learners with a passion for History, critical thinking, and enquiry.
- QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Strong knowledge of the History curriculum at KS3 & KS4.
- Experience teaching GCSE History (any exam board).
- A strong classroom presence and confident behaviour management.
- Passion for teaching and the ability to motivate and inspire pupils.
- Commitment to high standards and continuous improvement.
- A teacher who can integrate quickly into a supportive, collaborative team.
- Supportive Humanities department with experienced colleagues.
- Clear behaviour systems and a calm, focused learning environment.
- Strong emphasis on academic progress, literacy, and critical thinking.
- Excellent senior leadership support and CPD opportunities.
- Well‑organised curriculum structure with resources in place.
