Overview

Zest Education are currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to join a fantastic secondary school in Birmingham City Centre. As a cover supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage classroom activities when the regular class teacher is absent. To be considered, you will need a minimum of 20 days experience working with groups of children or young people or be a recent University Graduate. Due to the varying nature of Cover Supervisor work, applicants can come from various backgrounds including recent graduates, sports coaches, youth workers, dance teachers, play group leaders and scout leaders.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage classroom activities in the absence of the teacher
  • Ensure students stay on task and complete assigned work
  • Maintain good behaviour management and discipline in the classroom
  • Foster a positive learning environment for students
  • Support students with any questions or concerns they may have during lessons
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and follow the school's policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in any subject
  • Previous experience working with young people is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with students of different ages
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing environments and requirements
