Location: Great Barr

Zest Education is seeking Teaching Assistants to join their Secondary schools in the areas of Sutton Coldfield, Erdington, Aston, Walsall, Wolvehrampton and Dudley.

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to teachers within the classroom, assisting with lesson planning, and working with individual students or small groups to ensure their academic progress.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about education, have excellent communication skills, and can build positive relationships with both students and staff.

The roles we have available are flexible, with part‑time and full‑time positions on offer. Whether you are looking for a few hours a week or a more long‑term commitment, we have opportunities that can accommodate your schedule.

Ideal candidates will have previous experience working as a teaching assistant in a secondary school setting, although this is not essential. We welcome applications from individuals who have worked in other educational settings or have relevant transferable skills.

Requirements
  • Experience working with secondary age students (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Flexibility and reliability

All applicants must either be NVQ level 2 qualified (or above) in a relevant subject or have a minimum of 20 days of experience working with children or young adults within the last 2 years.

You need to be proactive, energetic and committed to engaging pupils in wanting to learn and inspiring them to be confident and independent.
