SEN Teaching Assistant

Aspire People are seeking a compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Birmingham. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with a range of special educational needs, helping them to reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with additional needs (such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or learning delays).
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
- Support pupils with their social, emotional, and academic development.
- Use creative strategies to engage pupils and encourage positive behaviour.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom atmosphere.
This role would suit someone who is passionate about making a difference, whether you're an experienced TA, a psychology or education graduate, or someone with relevant experience in care or youth work.
What We're Looking For- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school‑based or otherwise).
- A caring and patient nature, with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to work as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, SEN training, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
