Trustee – Special Educational Needs (SEND) – Excelsior Multi Academy Trust

Excelsior Multi Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a Trustee with experience in Special Education Needs / disability / charities, whether this comes from work or lived experience. This role will help the Board oversee and strengthen our inclusive education strategy and ensure all pupils – especially those with SEND – have access to the opportunities they need to succeed.

• Support and challenge the senior leadership team to embed the SEND strategy across all academies, ensuring legal and regulatory requirements are met.
• Monitor the effectiveness of SEND provision across the Trust and review SEND pupils’ outcomes and experiences regularly.
• Oversee the development of inclusive policies and practices and provide strategic guidance on SEND funding, staffing and compliance.
• Provide strategic oversight and guidance on SEND funding, staffing, and compliance.

• Passion and commitment to inclusivity in education.
• Experience in governance, finance, education or leadership (desirable but not essential).
• Integrity and honesty.
• Demonstrated knowledge of SEND and best practice.
• Commitment to equality and diversity.
