Overview
Are you passionate about ensuring young people have access to opportunities and accurate information to enable them to make positive choices around sexual health and relationships? Birmingham City Council is seeking a dedicated Senior Youth Worker (SYW) to join Birmingham Youth Service, Children and Families Directorate. In this pivotal role, you will support the delivery of sexual health and positive relationships with young people in youth centres, schools and in localities across Birmingham.
If you are a proactive leader with a commitment to improving the sexual health outcomes for children and young people, we want to hear from you! As the SYW, you will be responsible for the delivery of sexual health provision within the Youth Service. You will work co-operatively with a team of youth workers. Develop and maintain strong partnerships with relevant organisations and strengthen the outcomes for young people.
Your role will involve ensuring the implementation of systems across Birmingham Youth Service and the delivery of high-quality youth work to our young people. In this role, you will work collaboratively with other (SYW) as well as stakeholders to promote creative partnerships and improve outcomes for young people. You will contribute to the planning and performance management across the delivery team and inspire and motivate the best provision to young people.
- Deliver sexual health provision within the Youth Service in collaboration with colleagues and partners.
- Support the delivery of high-quality youth work and promote creative partnerships to improve outcomes for young people.
- Contribute to planning and performance management across the delivery team.
- Inspire and motivate staff to provide excellent services to young people.
- Degree-level education in Youth Work with a JNC qualification.
- Significant experience in managing and leading staff in youth work delivery.
- Strong understanding of relevant policies, practices, and national frameworks.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage conflicting demands and work under pressure.
